Experience the best of Uganda on this 5-day Gorilla & Wildlife Safari, exploring Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Bwindi, in southwestern Uganda, is home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas, making it a top destination for gorilla trekking. Queen Elizabeth National Park, the country’s second-largest, features diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes, including the famous tree-climbing lions of the Ishasha sector. This safari combines thrilling primate encounters with engaging game drives and cultural experiences, offering a complete journey through Uganda’s extraordinary natural beauty.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park
Depart at 8:00 am from Kampala or Entebbe, driving along the Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale route. Pause for lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre before continuing to Bwindi, arriving in the evening.
Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Camp
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters by 8:00 am for a briefing. Trek through the forest with a ranger to locate a habituated gorilla family, which can take 2-5 hours. Spend one hour observing and photographing these magnificent animals. Afterwards, return to your lodge, freshen up, and visit the Batwa community to enjoy traditional songs and dances before dinner.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in 3-4 hours. Check in at Park View Hotel for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, explore the Ishasha sector to spot the famous tree-climbing lions, followed by an evening game drive to encounter nocturnal wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Begin the day with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, looking out for lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and various waterbirds. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Start early with breakfast and proceed to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking, which lasts 2-6 hours. Observe the chimpanzees in their natural habitat before checking out and driving back to Kampala, arriving in the evening. If staying overnight in Kampala, enjoy an evening city stroll before concluding your safari.
